Picture the scene: A rouged and ruffled debutante in the days of the grandest soirees avec Chateau du Chambourd descending the famous double-helix staircase in yellow silk wearing these luscious beauties. These are the scenes historical dreams are made of and not necessarily a true account of the history of these earrings, but hey, it could be true!
These earrings, made in France in 1860, are a most striking pair of 18-carat long drop earrings with vivid central enamel panels decorated with delicate, hand-painted floral motifs. Ornate gold borders frame each drop while fine chains and bead accents add movement and a just the right amount of dramatic impact. These eye-catchers have have a wonderfully theatrical feel. Oh la la.
