Our online store is hosted by Shopify, which provides the e-commerce platform through which we sell our products.
1. Antique & Vintage Jewellery
Blue Jean Baby specialises in antique and vintage jewellery.
Unless otherwise stated, our pieces have been previously owned and worn and may therefore show signs of age, wear, patina, previous repair or alteration consistent with their history.
These characteristics are part of the nature and individuality of antique and vintage jewellery and should not necessarily be considered faults.
We carefully inspect each piece and endeavour to describe its condition accurately, including any significant damage, repair or alteration of which we are aware.

2. Descriptions, Dating & Attribution
We take care to describe and date our jewellery as accurately as reasonably possible using our knowledge, experience, research, hallmarks and other identifying characteristics.
Antique and vintage jewellery does not always come with complete provenance or documentation. Where an exact date, maker, origin, material or other characteristic cannot be independently verified, the description may reflect our informed assessment based upon the characteristics of the piece.
Terms such as Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian, Art Deco, antique and vintage refer to our assessment of the age or period of an item unless otherwise stated.
Any material information known to us that may reasonably affect a purchasing decision will be included in the listing where appropriate.
3. Hallmarks & Precious Metals
Where hallmarks or other marks are present, they will be noted where relevant and interpreted to the best of our knowledge.
Many antique pieces are unmarked, partially marked or bear marks that have become worn with age.
Where precious-metal content is stated for an unhallmarked piece, this may be based upon testing, professional assessment and/or the characteristics of the item.
Relevant information concerning hallmarks or testing will be included in the individual product description where appropriate.
4. Gemstones
Unless a piece is accompanied by an independent gemological laboratory report, gemstone identification is based upon our assessment and/or information supplied to us when the piece was acquired.
Antique gemstones may display natural inclusions, variations, wear and characteristics associated with historic cutting and setting techniques.
Gemstone treatments cannot always be identified without specialist laboratory testing and should not be assumed to be absent unless specifically stated.
5. Measurements, Weight & Ring Size
We make every reasonable effort to provide accurate measurements, weights and ring sizes.
Due to the nature of measuring individual antique and vintage pieces, measurements and weights should be regarded as approximate unless otherwise stated.
Ring fit can also vary according to the width, shape and construction of the ring.
Please check the measurements carefully before purchasing and contact us before ordering if you require clarification or additional measurements.
6. Photography & Colour
We make every effort to photograph and represent our jewellery as accurately as possible.
The appearance of colour, tone and scale can vary depending upon lighting, photography and individual screen settings.
Product photographs may be enlarged to show detail. Please refer to the measurements provided within the listing when assessing the actual scale of a piece.
7. Products, Availability & One-of-a-Kind Pieces
The majority of our jewellery consists of individual antique or vintage pieces and is therefore one of a kind.
Some pieces may also be offered through other sales channels. Although we make every effort to keep our website inventory current, it is occasionally possible for an item to sell elsewhere before our website has been updated.
If an item is no longer available after an order has been placed, we will contact you and issue a full refund.
We reserve the right to withdraw a product from sale, correct an obvious listing or pricing error, or refuse or cancel an order where we are unable to fulfil it.
If payment has already been taken for an order that we subsequently cancel, the amount paid will be refunded.
8. Prices & Payment
Prices are displayed in the currency shown on the website and may be changed at any time before an order is placed.
The price applicable to your purchase is the price displayed when you place your order, subject to the correction of any obvious pricing error.
Payment must be received in full before an order is dispatched.
You agree to provide current, complete and accurate billing, delivery and contact information when placing an order.
9. Shipping & Delivery
Orders are carefully packaged and dispatched using an appropriate tracked and/or insured delivery service.
Available shipping options and charges are displayed at checkout where applicable.
Delivery times are estimates rather than guarantees. Postal services, couriers, customs authorities and other circumstances outside our reasonable control may occasionally cause delays.

10. International Orders, Customs & Import Charges
Blue Jean Baby Antique Jewellery is based in the United Kingdom and ships internationally.
Orders delivered outside the United Kingdom may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, handling charges or other fees imposed by the destination country.
Unless expressly stated otherwise at checkout, these charges are not included in the product price or shipping charge and are the responsibility of the recipient.
Customs procedures may also result in delivery delays outside our control.
International customers are responsible for familiarising themselves with any applicable import restrictions, duties or taxes in their destination country before purchasing.
11. Returns & Cancellations
We want you to be delighted with your purchase.
If you wish to return an item, please notify us within 14 days of receiving your order and follow the instructions contained in our Return Policy.
Returned items must be handled with reasonable care and returned in accordance with the requirements set out in our Return Policy.
Where permitted by applicable consumer law, the customer may be responsible for the cost of returning an unwanted item.
Where an item is faulty, not as described or where you otherwise have a statutory right to a remedy, your rights under applicable consumer law remain unaffected.

Antique and vintage jewellery can require greater care than newly manufactured jewellery due to its age, construction and previous history.
We recommend treating your jewellery with care and removing it before sleeping, bathing, swimming, exercising or undertaking activities that may expose it to impact, chemicals, moisture or excessive strain.
Cleaning methods suitable for modern jewellery may not be appropriate for antique pieces, gemstones, pearls or historic settings.
Damage resulting from wear, accident, inappropriate cleaning, improper storage or subsequent alteration or repair is not considered an original fault with the item.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights where an item was faulty or not as described at the time it was supplied.
13. Historic Repairs & Subsequent Alterations
Antique and vintage jewellery may have been repaired, resized or altered during its lifetime.
We will disclose significant repairs or alterations of which we are aware where they are relevant to the condition or value of a piece.
Unless specifically stated, however, we cannot guarantee that every historic repair or alteration will be identifiable.
Any resizing, repair, modification or alteration commissioned independently by the customer after receiving an item is undertaken at the customer's own risk.
Such work may affect the condition of the item and, where permitted by law, may affect your ability to return it as an unwanted purchase. This does not affect statutory rights relating to faults that existed when the item was supplied.

Occasionally, information may contain typographical errors, inaccuracies or omissions relating to product descriptions, prices, availability, shipping charges or other information.
