Well, well, well. What do we have here? Only the coolest statement piece you could possibly imagine! A little bit country and a whole lotta rock and roll! If you didn't know you loved continental Victorian jewellery, you do now.
This is a rare and striking example of 19th-century Austro-Hungarian folk jewellery that features champlevé and cloisonné enamel panels linked by scrollwork and gilt ball spacers. The central panel is hand-worked repoussé gilt metal with a raised foliate design, flanked by alternating enamel panels showing figural and floral motifs. These techniques reflect the labor-intensive, multi-firing enamel work this region was renowned for.
The bracelet, originally designed to hold large sleeve-cuffs to the wrist, fastens with a box-and-tongue slide clasp typical of Victorian construction.
