This graduated tortoiseshell bead necklace was made circa 1880/1890 is a real showstopper, very unusual and even more beautiful in person!  Each bead varies in tone from a mix of warm honey colour to a deep chocolate brown with much texture and interest.   The necklace is strung on its original thread and secured with a barrel clasp and the length approximately 73cm (30”

Condition: Good antique condition with normal wear consistent with age and use. Beads have some scratching and a few chips, only adding to the character of the piece.
